On a totally different note, we have a new addition to our family.........meet Lucy. She's a 3 year old British Shorthair Silver Spottie and is a real sweetie. She only came home yesterday & it's going to take a while for her to settle in & feel confident in her new home as she's been used to living in a cattery with her breeder.......... this is where she decided she felt safe today, on the DVD shelf behind the television!
The house has been so empty since our dear 14 year old labrador, Max left us 18 months ago, so I felt it was time to welcome a new pet into the home. We still miss him loads.
Are't you lucky!!! And the new member of the family is lovely.
ReplyDeleteOMG, Kaffe Fassett! He´s been one of my heroes since I was a teenager, I like his knittings SO much! You make me envious!
ReplyDeleteWauwhhh!! Chance of a lifetime!! What an adorable little cat! Labradors are dogs who snuggle their way into your heart and will never, ever leave! We have lost 2 and our Yvette is even more a heartbreaker than Emma and Ginger used to be pffff, it sometimes hurts to love a Labrador!! happy sewing, hugs, Daniƫlle
ReplyDeleteLucy is absolutely adorable!! She has gorgeous markings. Soon she'll rule the household. :-)
ReplyDeleteLucky you taking a Kaffe Fassett class!
Lucky you to meet Kaffe- I have become a big fan of his fabrics and started to collect them a few at a time. I have found some on line for relatively reasonable prices.I am sure you will enjoy his workshop.
ReplyDeletePets become such integral parts of our family lives that they remain with us like all our loved ones when they pass on. We had a dog named Tigger for a dozen years and have two other dogs since then but we still miss her personality and presence even though we love our current pets ( we have both a cat and a dog these days) Your new cat looks lovely- Max was one handsome dog- so sorry for your loss.
Regards from a Western Canadian quilter,

ReplyDeletegeweldig!!!!
ReplyDeletePerhaps about this time the workshop is well started! Thrilled for you. Oh so thrilled. I can just imagine all the inspiration you'll get from that. And oh the British Shorthair, Gisele. Those are (I'm told) the neatest cats ever. A warm welcome to Lucy. (Max sure had a long, long life.) Anyway, looking forward to reading about your colorful event.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful cat. It's terrible to loose a pet, but wondeful to welcome a new one. Enjoy her! Also enjoy the workshops! Great opportunity!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty this little Lucy is. Sorry to read about Max.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful KF is visiting your island. Must be great to follow his classes. And he will gain much inspiration from Jersey too I am sure. (isn't it called Flower island?)
