Quite a while ago Mary very kindly sent me some of these vintage Hat labels to play with & I was desperate to use them, but could not incorporate them into anything until this morning when I had one of those aha moments! Below is an ATC which was the result of that moment.
Mary has quite an eye for picking up amazing vintage ephemera and embellishments, the surplus of which she sells on ebay , do go check it out as there's always something really unique to be found.
Looks great.
ReplyDeleteI really like what you did with the hat tag Gisele. Sometimes I see cool things like those hat tags and want them or buy them but then I go blank when it comes to actually using them. You used it really well!

ReplyDeleteGisele, What an inspired use! The card is wonderful. Mary
ReplyDeleteOoooooooh, the hat tag works a treat on your atc, Gisele. Lovely work indeed!
ReplyDeleteAlso, thank you for your recent visit to my blog ... I really appreciate it. :)
I have been in contact with Linda from L B Crafts, Olney and she tells me that she is getting the Glimmer Mists in VERY SOON and they will be around £5.25 a bottle.
Also, the gesso backgrounds are very easy to do. I sometimes use a piece of sponge to dab it on the card, let it dry for a minute or two and then apply distress inks over the top. The gesso acts as a resist and I love to effect it leaves. You can also apply some to the edge of a ruler or an old credit card to make lines instead of the sponging idea. It's a great medium to play with and I couldn't live without it, lol.
Hope that helps. Bye for now :)
WOW Indeed this is beautiful!!!!
